GaugeFinder for iPhone & ipod Touch

GaugeFinder is a fast database application containing the most common measurement gauge standards in use across the world.

The application will contains the thickness / diameter values for the following standards in both inches and millimeters:

- US Standard
- Stainless Steel
- Sheet Steel
- Galvanized Steel
- Strip & Tubing
- Aluminum
- American / Brown & Sharpe Wire (AWS)
- Birmingham / Stubs Iron Wire (SWG)
- French Catheter
- Imperial Standard Wire
- Washburn & Moen / American Steel & Wire Co
- Steel Wire Gauge / Waterbury Co.
- Whitworth's
- Stubs' Steel Wire
- Zinc

The application will display, to a precision of +/- 1 pixel (1/160 in or 0.15875 mm) thickness bars in its main window. This can be of use when trying to find the gauge of a cable or small material piece by overlay the piece on the device's screen.

Double tapping on any gauge will bring a detail window containing a thickness values in both in and mm, wire cross section area for the selected gauge in both square inches, square millimeters and Cir Mil.

The detail window will also present a longer thickness bar and circular cross section for the selected gauge.

NOTE: please note that due to drawing limitations imposed by the screen resolution (minimum drawing possible is 1 px = 1/160 in = 0.15875 in), thickness drawing below the 1 px will not be accurate or not drawn at all.
